"Misty"

In direct contrast to the darkness of "Night" is "Misty," which was inspired by Chinese landscape paintings -- and a desire to see just how hard I could crank on my spiffy exponential mist function. "Misty" is one of my best-looking images, when printed on a reflective medium (such as paper).


Misty II (1990)

In "Misty II" I substituted in the clouds which I developed for the planet Gaea. I also added a subtle temperature contrast between light and shadow. I am surprised at how much depth this adds to the image.
